About the Campaign
Chains of the Fourth Era
Fifty years after the fall of Alduin, Tamriel groans under a resurgent and cruel Imperial authority. The Thalmor threat grows teeth, and despite defying them openly, the Empire has not reversed the White-Gold Concordat. Your average citizen is happier (until they are arrested), considering the law operating well and good, but the old freedoms — of leeway, of magic, of faith — are being excised, quietly and without ceremony.
You are prisoners. Not necessarily of serious crimes, but of inconveniences, breaking some law however minor or major. Your existence is a problem the Empire would rather solve with your cooperation. GAOL is a campaign about survival, resistance, and what it means to be free in a world that has decided you aren't.
Featuring elements from the hit game series by Bethesda, this is a love letter to the world of Tamriel, the games that got me hooked on fantasy, the often insane yet deeply deep lore of the whole team of writers for Elder Scrolls across the last 30 years, including Kirkbride's work, and finally, the community which keeps these games and world alive and relevant.
