The Program
Has Begun.
Several people wake up in a JRPG. They know it's a JRPG. They know the tropes. They've played these games.
What they don't know is whether any of that knowledge is going to help them — and whether the system they're using and the entities that support it will help them when push comes to shove.
TABRA is an isekai tabletop campaign built in Fabula Ultima, leaning fully into the visual novel/JRPG/Isekai format. Theatre Inserts, stylized combat, narrator-voice storytelling.
The Second Life Program Members have been given a whole new life on a new world as a second chance. Juniper is helping, and hoping they don't break everything.
TABRA: The Tale of the Meta-Gamers is a heartfelt take on what can often be a watered-down wish-fulfillment fantasy trope. What if those people in that video game fantasy world weren't JUST NPCs, but real people? What if the coolest thing you learned on TABRA wasn't magic, but how to be a better person?
At its core TABRA deals with characters who lived a deeply flawed life, died, and realized that — trying to fix it with what may be their only second chance, but they're still the same old person, so that's easier said than done.
Inspiration has been taken from every JRPG from the whole Final Fantasy series, Fire Emblem, the 'Tales of' series, Persona, and some comedy JRPGs like Mother — to the Isekai Visual Novels, Manga and Anime that drew from them, like Konosuba, Rising of the Shield Hero, The Faraway Paladin, and Grimgar of Ash and Fantasy.
